A Ballad for Her Cowboys:
Hot off the Ranch Bk. 2
Country singer Misty Tucker was a rising star when she first meets Aiden Black and
Seth Orton. These two cowboys became her dream men after their amazing night of
sexual delight, but Misty was always going to be moving on with her career. Playing in a
dive in the middle of Arizona, far away from where she met Aiden and Seth, running
from her soon to be ex-manager who just takes everything, Misty is broke and her
singing career almost a thing of the past. Then she spots two familiar faces in the bar.
How can this be?
At first Misty tries to avoid Aiden and Seth, but they've been looking for her for years.
After that one night they knew she was the woman to share their lives, dreams and
hopes. Things keep getting mixed up between them as Misty tries to decide whether to
allow Aiden and Seth back into her heart. As Misty completes her contract to rid herself
of her manager she pours her heart out about her love for Aiden and Seth in a 'ballad for
her two cowboys', but will they ever know it was them she sings about?
A Ballad for Her Cowboys-Hot off the Ranch, book two misses the mark with me. I
had such high hopes that for love, great sex and even some emotional angst, but the
way Aiden, Seth and Misty constantly doubt themselves was just frustrating and
irritating. Cowboys are tough, determined, stubborn men who can love fiercely, but
Aiden's character is too bitter, and the walls Misty's self doubt creates between them
makes it hard to truly enjoy this book.
Even so, I found the way that Misty sings for her two cowboys makes it possible for their
love to shine through, once the emotional walls come down. Their chemistry in and out
of bed kept me reading, hoping they would finally come together. It would have been a
better story had there been less emotional pain, but if you can get past that you'll see
that this love story is a different look at stardom and two cowboys who are the real thing.
