Bar None
Sera has had a very difficult time lately so she's headed for Bar None, her favorite place
to take solace with her best friends Nate and Fabrizzio.  Nate is the owner, so they're
always there and they know just how to lift her spirits.  Sera knows their deepest,
darkest secret. She knows Nate and Fab are vampires, but that doesn't seem to be a
problem and their friendship is stronger than ever.  Sera doesn't know the depth of Nate
and Fab feelings for her.  Thats one of the few things that Nate wishes were different.

Nate has been in love with Sera from the first moment he saw her, but she's human, so
he can never let her know his feelings for her.  Nate fears that by showing Sera his
desire for her he would not only make love to her, but end up draining her of her blood
as he would become uncontrollable.  Fab also loves Sera and knows that he could help
Nate love her safely.  Of course Fab would have to be part of it to make sure that Sera is
protected from Nate's hunger not just to have her in his bed, but to drink of her blood at
the same time.  It's an orgasm that would destroy her in the end.

As Sera pours her heart out to them at the bar she learns of Nate's love for her and
comes to realize that she loves him too.  Sera enlists the aid of Fab, and in doing so
she realizes she is in love with him as well.  How could she have missed this?  Well, it's
time to act on it...if only she could make Nate see that being with each other is the only
real solution.

My emotions were pulled in different directions while reading
Bar None.  I was quite
taken with Nate and the moral dilemma which would keep him at a distance from Sera.
I found it difficult to keep reading of Nate's fear of what he might do to Sera if he gives in
to his desires and looses control.  His desire to make love to Sera is strong, yet he is
tortured by the thought that he may end up killing her by doing so.  Nate is a desirable
man, with strong emotions that he hides despite his desire to make all consuming love
to her.

I enjoyed the moments with Fab.  He's so light hearted and easy going for a vampire.
Fab would have no trouble being with Sera if he didn't know how much Nate wanted her.
Finding a way to get the three of them together was truly imaginative. There was a bit of
a tease running through the storyline that they would eventually all come together as
lovers, but there wasn't quite enough contact between Sera, Nate and Fab, so I was left
wishing there had been more sex and intimacy in this story.  When they finally do make
love it's too fleeting for me.  This story began with possibilities, but it took until the last
possible moment for them to enjoy the relationship that finally comes into being.
