brothers. When she is finally allowed to meet Davin sparks fly at their first brief touch, long
conversations late into the night, via crystal convince Callie that she wants Davin to be the first
man she kisses. Little does Callie know she is Davin’s resonance mate. Running with Davin
and forcing the Alvian councils acknowledgement of their resonance mating is the first step to
freeing the human race. Callies’ control over the crystals is unexpected and astounding to the
Alvians, it should have been enough to keep Callie safe. Starting a school for humans who
have the crystal gift brings Callie and Davin into close contact with Richard St. John. A man that
Davin quickly realizes has as strong a crystal gift as his own, a man who also resonates with
Callie.
Rick is used to being alone, separated from his father years ago and captured by the Alvians to
be used in their experiments, Rick has worked desperately to keep hold of the values he
learned before the Alvians came. Now free and in the care of Davin’s crystal training program
Rick is dismayed to find himself attracted to Davins’ mate. Of course he’d never do anything to
disrespect or hurt Callie that way, not to mention how much he owes Davin, so he is forced to
stand aside until fate steps in. Fate, much like Callie will not be denied!
A shattered world and a crippled alien nation forced together brings forth the wonderfully
created back drop for Davin’s Quest. Highly sympathetic characters will have you perched on
the edge of your seat as you await their ultimate fate. Davin is a strong alpha male whose
emotional depth will astound you especially in the face of his upbringing. His obvious love for
Callie and acceptance of whatever makes her happy is highly endearing.
Callie is young but strong, willing to place herself at risk to protect her mates, family and the
human race in general. Watching her grow and become a suitable mate for Davin gives you
time to fall in love with the young empath, an emotion that lasts through the rest of the book.
Rick is a caged alpha who, rather than lashing out at those around him forces a sense of order
to his caged world. His determination to protect Callie even from himself had me wanting to
smack him upside the head at times however the depth of his character held me mesmerized as
it slowly unfurled as the story progressed.
The sex isn’t the focus of the story, in fact it happens so naturally that you’ll find yourself heavy
breathing before you even realize you’ve hit it. The sensuality of the story can lead to
interaction that feels like foreplay between Davin, Callie and Rick for pages and when they
make it to a bedroom you’ll be checking your fingers for blisters as they heat up those pages.
By combining hot sensuality and emotional drama Ms. D’Arc ensures that her latest sci-fi
contribution will be a work of art that you will find yourself unable to put down.
While Davin’s Quest is a complete story in itself, I recommend reading Hara’s Legacy first for
full enjoyment. With a continuing plotline that hasn’t reached its end I can’t wait to see what Ms.
D’Arc has planned next for the Resonance Mates Series.
