Evelyn and her friends devised the game of Blissful Bets as a way to keep her heart
from getting involved while she's getting over her broken engagement to Stephen. He
broke it off two weeks before the wedding, for another woman. In the game each of the
women meet at their favourite bar and would point out a man that their friends have to try
to pick up and go to bed with. The prize for the one who succeeds is free drinks for the
next night out.
Brandon is on a special mission for a friend. His friend was once used by Evelyn in one
of her Blissful Bets, and Brandon's mission is to make her fall in love with him and then
break her heart. He moves into Evelyn's building and starts insinuating himself into her
life, bumping into her at every opportunity, asking her out, then he follows her to the bar
and gets the women to bet that Evelyn would bed him. But as Brandon gets to know
Evelyn he falls in love with her himself.
Unknown to Evelyn, Brandon is a vampire. As they make love and their passion
reaches new heights, he bites her in the neck only to discover she already carrys the
mark of a werewolf. Brandon knows that the werewolf will come for his mate and he will
not willingly give up Evelyn. When Stephen finally comes back into Evelyn's life she is
confused and hurt. Can Evelyn forgive Stephen for leaving her, or will she shun him?
Evelyn is so distraught over the two men that she refuses to give up her 'bets' with her
friends, until the two men make her see what is really important. Brandon and Stephen
will also have to come to terms that they are from two different backgrounds and must
come clean with Evelyn before their time together can go on.
This is a truly hot, erotic book. Engaging Evelyn-Blissful Bets grabbed my interest
from the start. It's a different way for a woman to finally be free of emotional constraints
and experiment with having different men love her. The whole point is to not get
attached, just take the man to a motel, have sex with him, then move on. No emotional
ties. This is very unusual for women to do, but it gives Evelyn a daring opportunity to get
over Stephen.
The sex scenes are enough to scorch the pages from the book. Believe me, I was
amazed at how freely they had sex and in so many ways. Brandon is there to take
revenge for his friend, but Evelyn is so much more than the 'bets' make her out to be. I
was enamored with the way Brandon went after Evelyn only to be caught in love with her.
Brandon is perfect for Evelyn as is Stephen when he comes back into her life. You
won't be disappointed, but you will have a lot of fun reading about Evelyn and her
friend's escapades in bed along the way to Brandon and Stephen catching their Evelyn.
