Fugitive:
The Cat Star Chronicles Bk. 5
Drusilla is often so lost in creating her art that she misses out on life. Not that Drusilla
usually minds, she’d much rather paint a spectacular bird than be forced to pay attention
to trivial things like family. Taking a holiday on a foreign world is just a way to find more
pretty birds to paint; Drusilla never expected to find a humanoid male there who
surpassed even her fantasy of the perfect man.
Manx is hunted. Chased from world to world by a species determined to wipe the
Zetithian people from the universe he has never been able to settle down; something he
doesn’t expect to change on the peaceful planet of Barada Seven. Wishing for more
company than the lakes lone Eltran, Zef, Manx watches as tourists come and go from
the lakes lone beach house always resisting the temptation they present. Until Drusilla.
Her scent calls to him in a way that he finds irresistible. Even if he is able to entice the
gorgeous artist what will Manx do when his enemy literally comes knocking at the door?
From dense jungle to scenic lakes and starships, Fugitive has a backdrop that covers
a galaxy. The fascinating landscapes only matched by the irrepressible characters that
will keep you reading long into the night. Make sure you have tissues though because
the things Manx and Drusilla go through will bring tears to your eyes long before you
reach the last page of Fugitive.
Drusilla is resilient, if a bit absent minded, with a keen sense of what’s right and wrong.
Her self confidence is a bit bruised after a series of bad attempts at relationships
causing her to be a bit hesitant in starting a romance with Manx. Her willingness to
suffer to protect Manx will make your heart clench.
Manx, like all Zetithian males, is mouth waveringly scrumptious. With a dedication to
bringing women pleasure it’s practically impossible not to long for one of your own.
Manx’s extreme sensuality will draw you to him. His wretchedness when his mistakes
harm Drusilla will make you weep while his joy upon finding more of his own kind made
me laugh through the tears.
When it involves a male who can literally cause orgasm with a smile you know the heat
levels going to be high. Even before Manx and Drusilla meet the sparks fly between
them, a mere glimpse causing desire to rise. A touch causes a conflagration of
passion that holds you in thrall and when Drusilla and Manx actually come together the
resulting heat will scorch your fingers and leave you panting.
A completely unique brand of hero marks all of The Cat Star Chronicles the insane
sensuality and the complete and total respect they have for women making each and
every Zetithian male absolutely irresistible. The continuing story of The Cat Star
Chronicles runs through Fugitive ensuring we get to visit with some of the more
irrepressible Zetithian men and their mates, Fugitive manages to give you that warm
familiar blanket feel while keeping you on the edge of your seat unable to put it down. It
kept me up till three am so don't think your going to get away with just reading a chapter
or two because that will quickly turn into three or four and then way more! With Hero
due out in August 2010 I can only hope that Ms. Brooks doesn’t plan on ending this
phenomenal series just because we seem to have run out of Zetithian men.
