Her Mates
Alice Purcell has been looking for a job in each town the wagon train stops at.  She
doesn't want to be taken by the men on the wagon train, and the longer she stays the
more danger she feels from them.  At Dolton, Colorado Alice is about to try one last
place when Brand Dupries steps up to her and offers her a job as the house keeper at
his family's ranch, though he doesn't tell her about his brothers.  The Dupries are
were-bears and they've been hoping to find their mate for some time.  When Brand
brings Alice to their home they can't wait to take her to bed and show her what being
their mate means.  Of course first they have to explain that Alice is also a were-bear and
she must learn to accept the love of these five men/were-bears.

Alice never knew what hit her as she became hot and turned on by Brand on their
journey to his ranch.  Brand however can tell she is in heat.  Soon she will turn into her
were-bear and not be able to stand not being taken by the men.  She will be demanding
in their love making until all of them have had her and marked her as theirs.  And then
she will continue to be in heat until she conceives their child.  Alice wonders what is
happening to her as she discovers the way these men make her feel because she has
never wanted to be with any man the way she is with these five men.  What does this
make her?  Can she survive their love and learning that she is more than just a woman?
The lust and cravings she has to have these men every way imaginable takes her breath
away, but soon she will have to figure a way to accept their attentions and learn her
place in their hearts and their home.

Her Mates starts out with an uncertain woman who is just trying to survive as a good
woman in the Old West, then all of a sudden mated to five strapping, gorgeous men.  It
felt like a few bits and pieces were missing as I read this story as it kind of jumps from
Alice being terrified to be with any man, to being with five men who take the decision out
of her hands.

The sex was definitely searingly hot and incredibly arousing as Brand Dupries and his
brothers showed Alice the way to make love in every way imaginable.  The intensity will
make you wish you had these men at your side ready to love you within an ounce of your
life.  These men sure do know their way around a woman.  Still, I wish Suzanne Thomas
had drawn this love making out and extended it a bit in places to make the way Alice
comes to terms with who she finally becomes smoother and more believable.  It's just
missing a few transitional areas that would have made it less disjointed.  Still I have to
say I wouldn't pass up the chance to read about these exciting men and their immediate
and determined love for a little woman named Alice.
