Lover’s Key
Brandi Carroll was not crazy. Every since her nephew had been taken by the
boogeyman, Brandi had been on a mission to prove to all the town people that they
needed to protect their children from the boogeyman. Yet, three years later the majority
still didn’t believe her and now seven children had gone missing. Distraught and very
frustrated Brandi was about to confront the scary monster head on when a mysterious
stranger intervened.
Julian, an immortal Templar Knight, along with two fellow companions were charged
with locating the seven keys and when all the keys were united they would open the gate
to the underworld forcing all evil back to where it belonged. With five keys under his belt
and while on the hunt for the sixth, Julian happened upon the seventh key – a human by
the name of Brandi Carroll. Julian’s quest just became even more complicated
because not only was the last key a woman – she was a woman who set his soul on fire.
Was Brandi willing and able to fulfill her destiny? And more importantly, will Brandi and
Julian have a future together?
I found Lover’s Key to be an intriguing story that entailed the enigmatic Templar
Knights with a modern day paranormal twist. Brandi proved to be a magnificent
heroine. She was stubborn, strong-willed and courageous; while Julian possessed
great strength, superb control and determination. Together this couple was a force to
be reckoned with both in and out of bed. The sex, although not a forefront until half-way
through the storyline, was intense; yet, tenderly sweet. But, what really left me breathless
with great desire was the passionate and lustful foreplay that took place between Brandi
and Julian. From the first meeting the couple’s chemistry simply melted the pages and
the romantic build up was electrifying.
I love Sherri L. King’s work and I hope this is the start of another fantastic series. It
would be wonderful to see Julian’s two friends to find their significant others.
