Rogue Within:
A Bonded Fantasy Bk. 9
Captured by darkmages, Donte is forced to choose death or to hold close their most
vile of spells. For the chance at helping his people Donte chose life. A life of pain,
torture and a helplessness that his alpha beast spirit helps him survive. Now, finally
freed Donte's willingness to allow his bear to walk in his human form has him labeled as
rogue even as his people call him traitor for working with the darkmages. Donte is sure
his only hope for life and vengeance is to be bonded so he sends his spirit searching for
just the right woman and when he finds her he is not taking no for an answer.
Moriko is a princess of the people and as such would do anything to protect the cities
from the darkmages. Bonding with Donte isn't such a burden however, having the
intense spirit mage literally burst through the defenses of her mind and wrap her in a
sensual storm is actually some of the most thrilling moments of her life. Standing
shoulder to shoulder with Donte against the evil that is attacking her world will her
admiration of Donte hold out when he bathes in the blood of her people?
An amazing roller-coaster ride awaits you in the Rogue Within. There is pain and
suffering, love and laughter, joy and hate and that's just in the first two chapters! This
fantastic addition to the Bonded Fantasy series will have you begging for more.
Donte is an amazing Trux with an ability to touch your heart even when he's not trying
too. His willingness to sacrifice everything to rid his people of the evil plaguing their
world just took my breath away. The clear love he feels for Moriko doesn't stop most of
the natural Trux tendencies we've seen in previous books of the Bonded Fantasy series
however the closer meld between beast spirit and man seems to leave Donte much
more in control emotionally and able to allow Moriko to help in the fight against the
darkmages.
Moriko is a strong highly sexed woman used to control in all situations. Watching as
she voluntarily gives Donte the control he needs after his captivity made my heart swell
and her willingness to fight at Donte's side and trust him to protect her is astounding.
The sheer burning heat whenever Donte and Moriko meet whether on the spirit plane or
in real life will scorch your fingers and bring a flush to your cheeks. The spice and
variety is entertaining but it is also a smooth and integral part of the story furthering the
plot and drawing you deeply into the life and love Moriko and Donte share.
While it is possible to read Rogue Within by itself it is my belief that you'd be doing
yourself a great disservice. The extra depth and understanding you gain from the rest of
the Bonded Fantasy series not to mention the stunning story that will hold you
fascinated from book one Wild Within. With the darkmage storyline clearly coming to a
close I can only hope that something else comes up so we don't soon see an end to the
Bonded Fantasy world.
