Songbird
Emily is dead, her body just isn’t smart enough to realize it. Or at least that’s how she feels
after her husband Sean is killed defending her life. When Sean’s brothers, Taggart and Greer,
come for her they are determined to rip her from her ennui and restore her to some form of life.
Emily is only reminded that Taggart and Greer rejected her love. When they crushed her heart
Sean gently cradled and sheltered it within his own. With Taggart and Greer dogged attempts
to bring back the sweet songbird they remember from their youth will Emily be able to turn away
the men who finally are opening their hearts to her?
Taggart and Greer Donovan have always loved and desired Emily. When she offered her
young heart and body to all three of the Donovan brother’s their fear and jealousy caused them
to push her away. Now, when Emily is crushed and broken will Taggart and Greer be able to
give her what she needs to heal her heart and give her the will to once again fight to survive?
Or will Taggart and Greer fail at the first test of their love once again betraying Emily’s soft
heart?
If you love a book where the author reaches into your chest, grabs your heart and proceeds to
squeeze every ounce of painful emotion out of you then you are going to absolutely adore
Songbird. Emily is a woman with a deep well of inner strength who has lost her way however
once pushed back towards the path she quickly finds her way. Taggart and Greer are strong
alpha males whose ability to do whatever it takes to make Emily happy, healthy and strong
again causes some heart clenching moments. Their defense of Emily even to the point that it
causes them pain makes them very easy men to love.
With all this poignant emotion you may think that there is no room for blistering sexual heat but
you’d be wrong. The passion that explodes between Taggart, Emily and Greer is both beautiful
and scorching hot the deep emotional connection leaving no doubt as to the feelings deep in
their hearts. With Ms. Banks pulling out her usual tear jerking, heart rending tricks in Songbird
only those with a heart of steel are going to make it through even the first chapter without
needing a box of tissues. Each book grows Ms. Banks talent and ability to cause that complete
emotional involvement that I’ve come to expect from her. I will await her next book with baited
breath.
