Lucia de Algarithia is the last of her distinguished and powerful line. Torn from her family as a
child and raised by the nomads known as Jinn, Lucia is far from home living in a country where
dragons rule the skies. Gravely ill after an injury, Sir Reynor one of the fighting dragons, comes
to the tavern where Lucia works. She is determined to do anything to prevent the magnificent
and gentle creatures ‘demise. Facing her fears Lucia presents herself at the Castle Lair
demanding the presence of Reynorsknight Sir Kayden or Reynors ‘dragon mate Lady Linea.
Lucia holds the means to possibly heal the injured dragon but is she willing to risk her life to use
it?
Kaden is consumed with guilt over the vicious wound Reynor, his dragon partner, has
sustained. Kaden is struggling to accept Reynors ‘injury along with having to learn to forgive
himself, now he has found out that his neglect has only worsened Reynor’s condition.
Devastated Kaden rushes to the tavern forgetting the guilt that kept him from Reynor’s side.
Upon his arrival Kaden discovers his dragon is already smitten with his lovely caregiver, which
quickly cements a place in Kadens ‘heart for the plucky waitress. Spending time with Lucia and
getting to know her soothing and sympathetic soul Kaden is realizing she is the one. Love is in
the air for Kaden, Lucia and Marcus, but if Lucia cannot accept their love triangle and Reynor
cannot fly, their small family is doomed to fail before it begins.
The loss of any dragon would be hard to bear but the critical illness of his own dragons mate
could leave his own dream of a family in tatters. Marcus is unable to contain his attraction to the
fiercely protective Lucia even knowing that Kaden needs her love and acceptance to heal.
When it becomes obvious that the idea of a traditional knight mating is disquieting to Lucia will
Marcus be willing to give up the idea of winning her heart?
With characters so colorful and lifelike you feel like you could talk to them and a world so vibrant
you see it take form and change before your eyes, Wings of Change is a magnificent addition
to the Dragon Knights series. Released as part of the I Dream of Dragon’s anthology, I would
buy the book for this story alone.
Lucia is a tough and powerful woman whose ability to overcome her heartbreaking history and
survive in a brutal world will move even the most hardened heart. Marcus’s willingness to both
give Lucia the room she needs to get used to the idea of a threesome and send her to Kaden
when it’s obvious his friend needs her more, show’s a giant heart beating inside this alpha
heroes chest making him very easy to love. Kaden is a wounded warrior whose emotional
vulnerability and almost self-loathing will have your heart aching for him and wishing for nothing
more than his healing.
Whether its Kaden and Lucia, Marcus and Lucia or all three burning up the sheets (or the
kitchen) together the intense fervor displayed in Wings of Change will have pages smoldering
and fingers burning. Its obvious Ms. D’Arc has more in store for us and I personally cannot
wait. While you could read this story alone I highly recommend you read the rest of the Dragon
Knight series for full enjoyment starting with Maiden Flight.
